Founded in 1982 BRCG has been a major wholesale company to the industry. The founder Lee J. Bellisario has been an active numismatist since 1968 and a full time dealer since 1974. Our motto "The Numismatic Company" exemplifies the core philosophy of BRCG. Thirty-five years of numismatic experience has given us a perspective that few have attained. It is that knowledge coupled with our grading expertise that allows us to buy the best not simply the highest graded.
Meet The Founder
Lee J. Bellisario
A numismatist with more than 25 years of experience, Lee J. Bellisario, after receiving his Master's degree from the University of Delaware, established his first rare coin business in Dover, Delaware. Following regional success, he entered the national scene in 1976 when he helped establish the auction division of a major coin company. By 1979, he developed this division into the largest rare coin auction house in the world, and in the same year was selected to call the prestigious American Numismatic Association's annual auction. He was one of the first numismatists selected as a grading consultant to the American Numismatic Association. He was one of the original 32 founding dealers of The Professional Coin Grading Service and was one of the first graders for PCGS. Lee has been published in numerous numismatic and investment publications. These include: Coin Dealer Newsletter; the Numismatist; The Rome Report; the Guidebook of United States Coins(Red Book); U.S. News and World Report; Newsweek and Personal Investor.

Our Grading Philosophy
As one of the first graders at PCGS in 1986 I was thrilled to be part of what now is a standard in our hobby - Third Party Grading Service.
Over the years, I have acquired coins for my clients based on more than just a third party numerical grade. Since 1965 I have honed my skills and applied that grading and numismatic knowledge to the coins I acquire for my clients.
Numerical grading has brought tremendous order to the market place, but rare coins are not simple uniform commodities. Rare coins are also a high art form. The esthetics, eye appeal and overall beauty can vary greatly between two coins with the same numerical grade. It takes many years of experience acquired from examining and trading in countless thousands of rare coins. I have that experience and the peer respect of my fellow top level numismatists.
I have utilized my grading eye and formalized standards in the purchase of every coin we acquire for clients. At BRCG we have quantified the many thought processes that occur when I examine a rare coin for possible purchase. We call these grade qualifiers "A-1 Grading".
